What it is

This formula combines B-complex vitamins, which the body uses in energy metabolism; amino acids, the building blocks of protein; and electrolytes, which help regulate fluid balance. The name is the one clinics commonly use for this type of formula. It is not a claim that the infusion prevents or treats any disease.

There is no FDA-approved product with this combination, and the exact components and amounts vary by protocol. AccuMix compounds the formula written on the prescription for a named patient.

What the clinic receives

  • Single-patient sterile vials or a patient-specific admixture, as the prescriber orders.
  • A label listing every component, its concentration, storage conditions and the beyond-use date.
  • Shipment to the clinic, temperature-controlled when required.
  • Infusion supplies where state law permits. Catheter placement and infusion are performed by trained healthcare professionals.

How to get it

  • Clinics and providers: send the order by e-prescription or fax for a named patient, with components, concentrations, diluent and volume, and infusion directions. See our Providers page or call 866-817-5303 for a pharmacist consult.
  • Patients: IV therapy is ordered and given by a licensed clinician. Ask your clinic whether it works with AccuMix Pharmacy.

We compound only on a valid prescription for a named patient, not for general office stock. Our turnaround time is 24 hours, and we ship to clinics in the 37 states and Washington, DC where we hold a license, with temperature-controlled packaging when required.

How it is made

Compounded under USP <797> in ISO Class 5 hoods inside ISO Class 7 cleanrooms, by a team led by board-certified pharmacists. Ingredients come from FDA-registered suppliers and are verified against a certificate of analysis. Every sterile batch is tested for sterility and endotoxins. Potency is tested regularly and whenever the source of an active ingredient changes. A pharmacist checks each step, and every preparation is traceable by lot.

Safety and what to expect

  • Infusions are given by a licensed clinician in a clinical setting, with monitoring and an emergency plan.
  • Tell your clinician about heart or kidney disease, pregnancy, allergies and every medication and supplement you take.
  • Possible effects include warmth or flushing, taste changes, vein irritation, nausea and lightheadedness. Tell the clinician right away if you feel unwell during an infusion.
  • Kidney function and fluid status are commonly checked before an infusion. Your clinician decides which tests are needed.

Storage

For the clinic: follow the storage directions and the beyond-use date (BUD) printed on the label, and maintain the cold chain when indicated. Keep all medications out of the reach of children and pets.

Common questions

Can the formula be customized?

Yes. We compound the components and amounts the prescriber orders for each patient.

Can I have the infusion at home?

IV therapy should be given by a licensed clinician. If home infusion is ordered, a qualified provider must coordinate it, with monitoring and an emergency plan.

Do you prepare other IV formulas?

Yes: Myers’ Cocktail, NAD⁺ IV, Immune Support IV and custom blends.

Compounded medications are not reviewed or approved by the FDA. AccuMix Pharmacy is a 503A compounding pharmacy and compounds only after receiving a valid prescription for an individual patient.
